My name is Pauline Holt and 'Jazzy Lily Jewellery' was started by me as a simple hobby, back in 1993. I began by making bead jewellery from a range of bought-in beads, but my passion now is for making my own, individually crafted, glass beads.

I live in Buckinghamshire, England and if you would like to chat about Lampworked Glass Beads, or if you would like to purchase small quantities of glass beads or jewellery, just 'click' on my email below.

Each bead is individually made. A glass rod is heated to a molten state and then wrapped around a steel mandrel. By rotating the mandrel whilst continuing to heat the glass and making use of surface tension and gravity, a glass bead is eventually formed. By applying small amounts of different coloured molten glass to the main ’bead’ whilst it is still hot, I am able to create patterns and decorations which then become fused into the ‘bead’ as it cools down. The wonderful thing is, each bead is unique and a work of art in its own rite. If you want to learn more, I regularly teach beadmaking for Plowden & Thompson in Stourbridge. in the West Midlands - or My Shed.htm for details of classes in Aylesbury.
